HOW TO GET SIM CARD IN SOUTH KOREA
Hi~
I
want to tell you about how to get a sim card for your phone if you are going to
South Korea for one ore two weeks.
It’s
based on my experience when I went to South Korea last month. Before I went
there, I googled to know about this too. Well, let’s begin !!
When
I arrived in Incheon International Airport, I went to counter (T-card counter,
sim card counter etc) I asked about how can I get the sim card and they said I
have to go to CU (mini market) to get a sim card.
So I
went there straight to cashier and asked to the sim card. They will asked you
what phone do you use, for the type of sim card. Type of the sim card will
affected to the price of sim card, nano card is 5000KRW more expensive than
micro or normal card. Because my phone is an iPhone 6s I should buy the nano
card ㅠㅠ. It cost 35.000KRW for 1GB
and it’s active for just 15 days, that’s so expensive right ???
Oh ya.. this sim card only can be use for foreigner, not for Korean.
Before you use the sim card, you have to register the
sim card by yourself. There’s the instruction with English in the paper. You
need your passport to register the sim card.
To register the card, go to
sim.ktmmobile.com there’s a form for you to fill it with your data and attach
your passport photo. Use airport free WiFi to open the website.
After you registered the sim card, you have to wait
about 60 minute. When the sim card already active you can use it !! YES OF
COURSE !!
